Get this Prudent add-on to import transactions exported from "my cpf Online Services" to PDF then extracted via Tabula.
The import process described here involves extraction of table data with Tabula first before importing to Prudent. The CPF PDF extension can import the PDF exported by CPF directly but can only work on Windows and only support import of one page of transactions at a time. This CPF Tabula extension supports importing of multiple pages at the same time.
Getting the PDF
Log-on to "my cpf Online Services" as usual.
Choose My Statement
Go to Section B, select Transaction History up to the last 15 months and specify the period of interest, then click on Proceed:
- At the top of the Transaction History table that will be shown, there is a link to download the PDF.
Installing the CPF Tabula extension
Find CPF Tabula in Extensions settings, then click on GET.
Getting Tabula
Tabula is an open source tool for liberating data tables locked inside PDF files and can be downloaded here.

From Tabula, browse to the PDF file you'd downloaded and click on Import
.
Then click on Autodetect Tables

Slightly move the table section highlighted to start from the first transaction data. The autodetect function includes part of the header which we don't need.
Do the same for the other pages.
Once you're done, click on Preview & Export Extracted Data
.
On the Preview of Extracted Tabular Data
page, check that all the data to be extracted looks ok.
Make sure you choose Stream
extraction method for all pages.
Choose JSON (Data)
for the Export Format selection.
If all is OK, click onExport
to get the file ready for import to Prudent.
Importing the JSON
To import the JSON as transactions in your ledger, within Prudent, click on Import, then choose CPF Tabula.
Point Prudent to the PDF file that you had downloaded and you'll get to a confirmation window that looks similar to this:
